Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 31, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how MSD UA LLC (“Brrrum,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the Brrrum AI: OBD2 Scanner Android application (“Brrrum” or the “App”) and the brrrum.com website.

Brrrum is an Android OBD2 scanner with AI-assisted analysis of vehicle diagnostic data.

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how Brrrum handles information, contact us at:

hello@brrum.com

1. Information Brrrum May Process

Depending on the features you use, Brrrum may process the following categories of information.

Vehicle profile information

You may provide information about a vehicle, including:

  • vehicle make;
  • vehicle model;
  • model year;
  • fuel type;
  • engine information;
  • an optional VIN;
  • vehicle description;
  • vehicle-specific configuration information.

OBD2 and diagnostic information

When you connect Brrrum to a compatible vehicle through an OBD2 adapter, the App may access and process diagnostic information made available by the vehicle, adapter and supported OBD2 protocol.

This may include:

  • diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs);
  • stored, pending and permanent trouble codes;
  • freeze-frame information;
  • readiness information;
  • supported live OBD2 PID values;
  • vehicle sensor readings;
  • protocol information;
  • adapter and connection information;
  • VIN when available;
  • other diagnostic values requested through features you choose to use.

AI analysis information

When you request an AI-assisted analysis, Brrrum may process:

  • the analysis type you selected;
  • selected diagnostic trouble codes;
  • selected or collected sensor readings;
  • relevant vehicle information;
  • diagnostic context required for the selected analysis;
  • the AI-generated analysis returned to the App.

Only information required to perform the requested analysis should be included in an AI analysis request.

Technical and diagnostic application data

The production version of Brrrum may use technical services for stability, security, crash reporting or product analytics.

No dedicated analytics or crash-reporting SDKs are currently enabled for Brrrum production analytics. Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics may be introduced in a future release. If these or other analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or tracking technologies are enabled, this Privacy Policy and the Google Play Data Safety disclosures will be updated accordingly.

Any information collected by third-party SDKs must also be accurately reflected in Brrrum’s Google Play Data Safety disclosures.

2. No Account Is Currently Required

The current version of Brrrum does not require users to create a Brrrum account in order to use the App.

If account functionality is introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before that functionality is released.

3. How We Use Information

Brrrum may use information processed through the App to:

  • connect to a supported OBD2 adapter;
  • communicate with the vehicle’s OBD2 system;
  • display vehicle and diagnostic information;
  • show live vehicle data;
  • read and manage supported diagnostic trouble codes;
  • maintain vehicle profiles and application preferences;
  • perform user-requested AI-assisted analyses;
  • generate and display analysis results;
  • maintain application reliability and security;
  • diagnose technical problems;
  • improve Brrrum where product analytics have been enabled and properly disclosed;
  • comply with applicable legal obligations.

4. AI-Assisted Analysis and Third-Party AI Providers

Brrrum uses a third-party AI service to generate user-requested AI-assisted diagnostic analysis.

Production AI provider:

Google AI (Gemini 3.5 Flash Lite)

When you start an AI-assisted analysis, information required for that analysis may be transmitted to the AI service provider.

This may include selected vehicle information, diagnostic trouble codes, collected OBD2 sensor data and other diagnostic context required for the analysis you selected.

We do not intend to send information that is unnecessary for the requested analysis.

The exact production configuration, data handling and retention practices of the AI provider must be reflected accurately in this Privacy Policy and in Brrrum’s Google Play Data Safety disclosure.

AI-generated information may be incomplete or incorrect. It should not be treated as a guaranteed diagnosis, a guarantee that a specific component has failed, or an unconditional determination that a vehicle is safe to drive.

5. Local Storage

Brrrum may store information locally on your Android device in order to provide application functionality.

Locally stored information may include:

  • vehicle profiles;
  • application settings;
  • adapter or connection preferences;
  • custom PID information;
  • diagnostic information used during an active connection;
  • AI analysis results or related application content.

You can remove locally stored application data through Android system settings or by uninstalling the App.

Some diagnostic session information may also be cleared automatically by the App as part of its normal operation.

6. Data Transmission and Service Providers

Brrrum may transmit information to service providers only where required to provide or operate a feature.

These providers may include:

  • the AI service provider used for user-requested analysis;
  • infrastructure or hosting providers;
  • crash-reporting or analytics providers if such services are enabled in the production version;
  • other technical providers required to operate the service.

Before production release, the actual service providers and their data practices must be verified and accurately reflected in this Privacy Policy and the Google Play Data Safety section.

7. Sale of Personal Information

Brrrum does not currently sell users’ personal information.

If Brrrum’s practices change in a way that affects this statement, this Privacy Policy will be updated before the new practice is introduced.

8. Advertising

The current version of Brrrum does not display advertising.

If advertising technology is introduced in a future version, this Privacy Policy and the Google Play Data Safety disclosures will be updated as required before that functionality is released.

9. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the relevant functionality, maintain the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes or enforce applicable agreements.

Information stored locally on your device generally remains there until:

  • you delete the relevant information in the App;
  • the App removes it as part of normal operation;
  • you clear the App’s storage through Android;
  • or you uninstall the App.

Brrrum does not currently operate its own backend for AI analysis and does not retain AI requests, AI responses, VINs, OBD diagnostic trouble codes, or PID/sensor data on Brrrum-operated servers. When a user requests AI-assisted analysis, the information required for that analysis is transmitted directly to Google AI for processing. Any processing or retention performed by Google is governed by the applicable Google AI / Gemini API terms and the production project configuration. AI analysis results and related diagnostic information may remain stored locally in the Brrrum application database on the user’s device until removed through available app controls, Android application-data controls, or uninstalling the App.

10. Data Deletion

Because the current version of Brrrum does not require a user account, there is currently no Brrrum account to delete.

You can remove locally stored Brrrum information by using available in-app controls, clearing the App’s storage through Android settings, or uninstalling the App.

For requests concerning information that may have been processed by Brrrum-operated services, contact:

hello@brrum.com

We will handle applicable deletion requests in accordance with applicable law and the technical capabilities and obligations of the relevant service.

11. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information processed by Brrrum.

Personal or sensitive information transmitted over a network must be protected using appropriate secure transport.

No electronic transmission or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

12. Website

brrrum.com is the official website for Brrrum.

The V1 website is primarily a static informational website.

Hosting and infrastructure providers may process standard technical request information necessary to deliver and protect the website, such as IP address, browser or device information, request metadata and security logs.

If website analytics, cookies, advertising technology, forms or other tracking functionality are introduced, this Privacy Policy and any required user disclosures will be updated accordingly.

13. Children’s Privacy

Brrrum is designed as an automotive diagnostic tool for vehicle owners and drivers and is not directed to children under 13.

We do not knowingly design Brrrum to collect personal information from children under 13.

If we learn that information from a child has been collected in a way that requires deletion under applicable law, we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

14. International Data Processing

Service providers used by Brrrum may process information in countries other than the country where you live.

Where required, we will use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal information.

15. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide rights concerning your personal information.

These rights may include the ability to request access, correction or deletion of certain information.

To submit a privacy request, contact:

hello@brrum.com

We may need to verify a request before completing it where required or permitted by law.

16. Legal Requirements

We may access, preserve or disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request, or to protect the rights, safety and security of Brrrum, our users or others.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Brrrum’s functionality, service providers, data practices or legal obligations change.

When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

Material changes will be communicated where required by applicable law or platform policy.
